ELL Library Support | DHS Library Orientation

INTRODUCTION:

A lesson to introduce ELL student to libraries (in general) and then provide students with specific information about both the DHS Library and Dedham Public Library, including the option to register for a public library card.

MASTERY OBJECTIVE(S):

The students will be able to:

  • explain the purpose of a library

  • demonstrate the ability to search the DHS Library’s online catalog

  • select an independent reading book of their choice

  • follow the library procedures to check out a book

  • complete the application for a public library card, if interested

  • provide examples of why they might want to visit the DPL
