Mr. Lydon's World War II Propaganda Project

Propaganda Project 

  1. Each student will research propaganda from Great Britain and the United States during World War II.

  2. After looking at all the different pieces of propaganda, focus on the two most common themes present in the propaganda posters for both Great Britain and America (hatred towards an enemy, supporting the cause of war, heroism, maintaining morale, security concerns, industrial production)

  3. Provide and explain 5 examples of the most common theme.

  4. Provide and explain 4 examples of the second most common theme.

  5. Write a two-page paper that answers the following question. How did Great Britain and the United States use propaganda during World War II?  What can we learn about each country from the propaganda they used during the war?
